Like you, I am tall and I know how these exercises really test my back. This an olympic lift so it really tests your power and coordination. I would not shy away from it if I were you. I felt happy to get 105#. That is it! I worked on form as soon as it became a problem. Don't be a mental midget. Do as much as your form allows and then stay at that weight and just keep doing it.

Not like I killed the numbers, but the practice will do me good. I feel that we get a little competitive on this site because we put our numbers out there for everyone to see. I have learned that the only thing that really matters is that you match or beat you last set. If you have never done it then you have nothing to lose. You never know, you might be plesaently surprised with your effort. You would never talk yourself out of an experiment in science so don't do it in crossfit.
