 06-21-2009 Pull-ups

Ten rounds for time of:
3 Weighted Pull-ups, 45 pounds
5 Strict Pull-ups
7 Kipping Pull-up

For weighted pull-ups place a 45 pound dumbbell between the legs above crossed ankles and jettison the dumbbell after third rep and continue with strict pull-ups and then the kipping pull-ups. Coming off the bar or going to ground constitutes termination of a set.

Post time and number of sets

I just finished my attempt at this workout. I went with the Seth scaling, which was 3 weighted pull-ups at 15 lbs. (after one round at 25 lbs.), 5 strict, and 7 Kipping. I got to 8 rounds before I could no longer do the weighted pull-ups so I stopped there.

8 rounds @ 34:47

I didn't keep track of sets. It was probably around 6 per round, so something like 50. I broke to single weighted pull-ups and sets of 3 on the rest. In addition to failing on single weighted pull-ups, I knew it was time to quit when I couldn't eek out more than two Kippings in a row.

Tomorrow will be brutal.

I tried to stay true to the intent of this exercise since I can not do pull-ups without assistance.

10 rounds

3 with 40# less resistance
5 with 20# less resistance
7 with normal resistance

38:12

That was tough.

7 rds + 2 weighted PUs in 11:25

I did 45# first two rds, 35# second two rds, and 25# for the remaing rds + 2. On the third wigthed PU of the 8th round I pinched a nerve in my neck and could not finish. This is a re-occuring injury I have lots of problems with Sad pretty painful.

I was on my way to beating my old time 18:50 too. Very dissapointed with my body it just gave out on me.

Now I'm worried about whether i'll be able to workout tomorrow. Question

5 strict CUs
